"This was my first experience with a septic system and was having my alarm going off. I encounter a small scheduling hiccup, but overall my experience with their service team Dave and his manager, Was great! They were knowledgeable and provided exceptional customer service. While, Dave was pumping the septic, my alarm continued to sound. He reached out to his manager, who arrived quickly to address the issue. It turned out that the alarm was faulty. FAQ

Septic Tank Most Common Questions.

Get Your Answers to Common Questions about our Septic Services

How often should i have my septic tank pumped?

To keep things simple, our recommendation is every 3 to 5 years.  For larger families (4+), you may need to do this every 2 to 3 years.

Septic Tanks - things to avoid?

Septic Systems can last upwards of 30 or 40 years if properly maintained. You should never flush “flushable” wipes, feminine products, paper towels, grease, fat, oil, or large amount of food.

Where is my septic tank located?

Septic Tanks are generally located 10 to 25 feet away your home’s foundation where the main sewer pipe exits your home. In Michigan, this will most likely in your basement or crawl space. In finished basements, it’s usually in your utility space or maybe a bathroom closet.

My yard is wet and i smell sewage?

If you septic drain field is oversaturated, it may not be able to absorb anymore wastewater and the wastewater is beginning to pool at the surface. This can happen during times of excessive rain or system overloading. Long showers, multiple loads of laundry in a single day, or plumbing leaks can overwhelm your system.

What are the main components of a septic system?
  1. Main Sewer Pipe – this carries all of your wastewater from your home and includes toilets, sinks, your laundry, and showers.
  2. Septic Tank – a watertight container which is buried underground and collects all of your household wastewater.
  3. Drainfield (Leach Field) – is an excavated area in your yard which contains perforated pipes buried in gravel or sometimes in chambers. The soil acts as a natural filters to remove impurities and natural microbes treat the water before it safely returns to the water table.
Septic System Tips - What Homeowners Should Know?
  1. Conserve Water – during the rainy season, limit laundry, shower times, and dishwasher use so you don’t overload your drain field.
  2. Surface Water – ensure your yard grade for roof gutters, sump pumps, and surface water travels away from your drain field.
  3. Protect The Area – it’s best not to drive cars, or allow any heavy equipment to ever drive over your drain field. This can compact wet soil and/or break septic tank lids or underground pipes.
